On October 25, 2010, Governor Patrick nominated two District Court judges, The Honorable Richard J. Carey and The Honorable David Ricciardone, and an experienced litigator, Attorney Maynard M. Kirplani, as Associate Judges of the Superior Court.
Judge Carey was appointed as an Associate Justice of the Northampton District Court in 1999 and currently serves as the Regional Administrative Justice for Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, and Berkshire Counties. He is slated to fill the vacancy created by the appointment to the Appeals Court of The Honorable Judd J. Carhart.
Judge Ricciardone was appointed as an Associate Justice of the Worcester District Court in 2004 and is currently the Presiding Justice of the East Brookfield District Court. He is slated to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of The Honorable John S. McCann.
Attorney Kirpalani, a partner at Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edleman & Dicker, has over 30 years of experience in complex civil litigation in Boston. He is slated to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of The Honorable Patrick J. Riley.
